VIZIO HygienePlus – Active against biofilm and retrograde contamination
At the water outlet, your tap comes into contact with the outside world – for example, through touch or when cleaned with a soiled sponge. This can transfer germs to the spout.
This is exactly where VIZIO HygienePlus comes in. Our in-house solution is designed to actively hinder retrograde contamination at the water outlet and reduce biofilm formation.
We have tested our solution in practical use for over a year. In a targeted comparison, we deliberately exposed two taps to heavily soiled cleaning sponges.
The difference after around two weeks was clear: On the tap with HygienePlus, no slimy deposits were visible at the water outlet or inside the spout. The comparison tap with conventional components showed substantial deposits and an unpleasant smell.
We deliberately keep the details of the technical implementation confidential. We protect our in-house development against imitation.

Background: Which bacteria can occur in biofilms?
Water-associated biofilms can contain, for example, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella bacteria such as Legionella pneumophila, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria. Other examples known from water systems include Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, the Burkholderia cepacia complex, and members of the genera Sphingomonas, Methylobacterium, Klebsiella, Enterobacter and Serratia.
These examples explain the microbiological background of biofilm and retrograde contamination. A microbiological examination can determine which microorganisms are actually present.

Non-return valves in the cartridge seat
Integrated non-return valves in the current VZFX01 construction prevent water from flowing backwards against its intended direction.
Hot, cold and filtered water. One tap, with a separate filtered-water path. VIZIO VZFX011222 combines solid V4A surgical stainless steel AISI 316L construction, a matt black PVD finish and a 360° swivel L-spout. The current VZFX01 version is already prepared for a later upgrade to four ways with a compatible sparkling-water system.
Engineering that makes a difference
- Solid V4A surgical stainless steel AISI 316L: tap body, spout and internal stainless steel water channels. The matt black PVD coating is applied to the stainless steel exterior.
- Independent filtered-water control: a separate ceramic valve and internal water path keep filtered water separate from the hot-and-cold mixing circuit.
- Integrated non-return valves: positioned in the cartridge seat to prevent reverse water flow.
- Cold Start: the mixer handle starts on cold and rotates forwards up to 90°, without needing clearance behind the handle.
- 360° swivel L-spout: direct the water where it is needed in the sink.
- 35 mm ceramic cartridge: controls the hot-and-cold water mix.
- PE guide rings and Fix&Lock mounting: support smooth spout movement and a stable tap base.

Care of the PVD finish
The black PVD surface is resistant, but rough handling can still damage it. Handle it carefully. For particularly intensive use, we recommend the polished or brushed stainless steel versions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add sparkling water later?
Yes. The current VZFX01 construction is prepared for four ways. Keep the tap and add a compatible sparkling-water system with the necessary connections. The additional equipment and connection are not included with the tap.
Do I need a separate tap for filtered water?
No. Filtered water has its own internal path and independent control in the VZFX011222.
Can I connect an activated-carbon filter or reverse-osmosis system?
The tap is intended for connection to a filtration system. Check the connections and operating conditions of the exact filter or reverse-osmosis unit. The tap itself does not filter, chill or carbonate water.

The Fix&Lock mounting system stabilises the tap base on the sink or worktop. Follow the installation instructions for the exact model and use the supplied fixing components.
Stable spout guidance
Two food-grade PE guide rings support the spout while allowing it to swivel smoothly. They also reduce the load on the O-ring seals.
Installation connections
Connection equipment depends on the model and version. Check the product’s scope of supply for the included hoses and adapters. A later sparkling-water upgrade requires compatible equipment and the appropriate additional connection.
